How To Pray For Peace In Your Heart

If you want peace and calmness of mind and heart, you may have to learn how to do many things differently than the way you have been doing them.

We always want our circumstances to change, but God told me to stop giving everybody else the responsibility for my peace and joy and to take responsibility for it myself.

I sincerely hope you are reading this today because some of you might experience serenity and calmness if you put greater faith in God.

Do you know that getting upset, like emotionally upset, is hard work?

It wears you out; it’s the worst time in the world to make decisions. We say things that we shouldn’t be saying; we do things we shouldn’t be doing.

There are better times to make decisions.

The Bible warns us not to be scared by anything; when you remain cool, it sends a message to the devil that he has no power over you and that he will lose the battle; also, it signals to God that He should come and rescue you.

Here’s the scripture in Philippians 1:28–29: “Do not be frightened or intimidated by your opponents and adversaries, for such constancy and fearlessness will be a clear sign of proof and a seal to them that their destruction is imminent.”

An indication to the devil that he can’t control you and that he will lose the battle is when a person is faced with situations that should upset them but instead remain calm.

But it is a sure token and evidence of your deliverance and salvation.

We often read verse 28 and don’t bother with verse 29 because nobody wants to discuss this suffering.

Nonetheless, there are instances when it’s better to let someone think you’re wrong when you’re right in order to maintain composure.

If you argue back and forth constantly, though, it will only lead to conflict.

So you may be better off just letting them think whatever they want and trusting God that if need be for them to be corrected, God will take care of that.

That way, you can stay calm, but you may suffer a little during that process, and when I say suffer, I mean in the flesh.

You know your flesh has feelings, and if you don’t get your way, your flesh suffers.

There were many years in my life when, if I didn’t get my way, I became angry and said things I shouldn’t have said or wouldn’t talk at all, and I acted foolishly; now, I don’t want to do that again.

I would instead adjust myself to the situation rather than get upset.

I’m committed to staying calm and peaceful, but that doesn’t mean my flesh loves it. Sometimes, I suffer in the flesh to do what God wants.

When we have a problem, we usually rush to action. A little demon sits on our shoulder and says, ” Well, what will you do?”

Why do we always think that we have to do something? Yes, there are things that we are to do in Ephesians 6 verse12-14

It says that having completed the entire crisis secures your position, so there are things that God wants us to do, but we need to know what those things are.

We need God’s direction, and the only way to acquire that is to settle down and be quiet so you’re able to feel inside of what advise you should take.

Don’t just start doing things you know you could do better; don’t do what someone else does; it might not work for you.

Psalm 46, verse 10, says to be still and know that I am God.

Well, what does that mean? It means that if we wait on God, we will momentarily see his miraculous workings in our lives.

Allow God to demonstrate himself to you by being willing to wait on him rather than trying to take matters into your own hands.

For example, if you’re angry at someone and planning ways to get them back, why don’t you decide right now that you’ll let it go and forgive them instead of doing what you will regret later.

Because forgiveness is not a feeling; it’s how you treat others.

God is our vindicator. He is the one who makes the wrong things right in our lives.

If you remain angry all day long, it will only hurt you. It will not break the person you’re mad at, but it will hurt you. I always like to say, “Let emotions go.”Subside.

Allow God to lead you. Take some time to wait on him.
