Table One – Who is a Virtuous Woman?

First of all, what do we mean by the word virtuous?

This article is about who is a virtuous woman, but before we go any further, let us look at the meaning of the word virtuous

Virtuous means that a person has or shows a high moral standard and value in what they do. Now, if we relate it to a woman, how do we define a virtuous woman?

How Do We Define A Virtuous Woman?

According to the Bible in Proverb 31 verse 10-31Kjv. I am sure you have read it through. So a virtuous woman is a woman who leads her house with honour, godly leadership and many other qualities that belong to the Godly way.

If you are a Bible student, you would clearly understand that God loves the family so much, read Genesis 1, verse 28 for clarification.

The Bible goes on to tell us that a virtuous woman is able to run her home. Her husband entrusts everything to her because she is a source of joy for him and his children.

She is energetic, strong and industrious; everything she does brings profit to her home.

She gives to the less privileged and helps the needy. She wears a garment of dignity and strength.

She speaks with kindness, even her children bless her and her husband showers her with praise.

Now that you know who a virtuous woman is, let us talk about the qualities of a virtuous woman.

Characteristics Of A Virtuous Woman

How do we define the word characteristic?

It can simply mean a quality or attribute of something. It can be a person, a place or a thing.

In this article, we will look at and examine the characteristics of a virtuous woman according to the biblical concept.

We take our teaching from the Bible because it is our curriculum for life, the standard that we children of God must follow in order to live our lives as responsible and godly women in society.

She Is Trustworthy

A virtuous woman must be trustworthy in all her actions.

Before she marries, this trait must be present in her.

The people around her will testify to it, and when she finally meets the man she wants to marry, it will not be difficult to convince him.

It is not difficult for the man to see these examples and characteristics in her.

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 31, verse 11 that the man’s heart will surely trust in her, so the man does not have to worry about whether the marriage will break up or whether the woman will make him regret marrying her.

Therefore, if you are between 18 and 25 and older, consciously plan your life and align it with God’s will.

Imitate the godly character in the Bible, live according to it, and a godly man will approach you. The man will also be happy to have met you.

Have A Good Heart

A good heart before God and man is significant for a child of God.

An evil heart is from the devil and we know that the devil cannot have good quality.

A virtuous woman’s heart must be good to people, her husband, her neighbour and society.

A godly heart as a woman can save so many lives around you. A perfect example from the Bible is the story of Lydia.

Read my article on WHO IS LYDIA IN THE BIBLE?

In Acts, chapter 16, verses 14. Lydia has a good heart and offers the apostle Paul and his followers a place to stay.

They ate and drank for a few days before continuing their journey to their next assignment.

She Is A Diligent/An Entrepreneur Woman

This is one of the best qualities to have as a virtuous woman.

A diligent woman is described as constantly active and engaged in business, either by manufacturing a product, selling the product and then using the profit for the upkeep of her family.

She is constantly active not only in business but also in the lives of her children and husband, making sure that they do not lack any moral support.

Each area of her life does not contradict the other. she properly put them in order.

This is the pure and practical picture of a virtuous woman.

We can also take the example of Lydia in the Bible. She is a hardworking woman and her business is selling cloth with purple dye, besides she has a lot of workers among her.

Lydia is known throughout the country and she was the first European Christian to convert from Judaism to Christianity.

She Helps The Poor

In the Bible, Proverbs 31vs12 says that a virtuous woman stretches out her hands to the needy.

Now, who are the needy?

They are people in a particular community or in our neighbourhood who do not have enough of what they need to live, such as food, money, education, water, or shelter.

A virtuous woman is expected to extend a helping hand to these people by sharing what she has with them, no matter what their means may be.

Remember that God loves a cheerful giver. The Bible also teaches us in Matthew 25 verses 31-46, Matthew 14 verses 13-21, Mark 6 verses 31-44, Luke 9 verses 12-17, and John 6 verses 1-14.

All these accounts in the Bible teach us how Jesus fed the multitudes during His lifetime, and as a child of God, He wants us to emulate these characters, especially as a woman, because we are the ones in charge when it comes to taking care of the family and people around us.

A virtuous woman must always keep an eye on the poor.

There are so many ways to reach out to the needy in our society. One of them is charities to donate money, clothing, food, household items and many other things when the need arises.

She Fears God

I put this point last on purpose; all the other qualities I mentioned above cannot be fully achieved without fearing God.

Can you imagine being a woman who has no role model around her? Whom do you look to for advice when necessary, or whose lifestyle do you look up to, and you decide, “I want to live like that person.

A virtuous woman must fear God with all her heart and mind, without fear of God in her life as a woman, her character will be zero, and her lifestyle will be like that of unbelievers

Remember the Bible instructs us not to be unequally yoke with unbeliever 2 Corinthians 6:14 .

An unbelieving woman cannot keep her home because God is not in the foundation of her marriage.

Let us go back to the beginning of the Bible when God created man and woman. In Genesis 1, verse 26, it says, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness.

God is our Creator, the greatest example we could ever want in life.

God controls the affairs of the world, he rules over the earth.

As a child of God, we belong to His kingdom, the kingdom is ruled by a standard, and it is through God’s standard that we can be virtuous women, both in marriage, at work, in society, and even on our journey to eternity.

Remember that our journey on earth is only for a while, heaven must be your destination if you are a child of God.

So all earthly activities of being a virtuous woman are to prepare us for the coming of our Savior on the last day and for our God to see us and say, “Well done, my faithful daughter, in whom I am pleased because you have fulfilled your mission here on earth.

Please make sure you study this teaching because all the above qualities are part of what qualifies us to enter the Kingdom of God.

Furthermore, the Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; this is to tell us that through God’s wisdom we can live a perfect life as virtuous women.

The wisdom of God can place us high and far above all human considerations.

God will show His power through you as a woman; you will have answers to deep revelations of events that are happening at the moment and also of events to come.

Fellow women will come to you for divine counsel, the word of your mouth will have power, and none will fall to the ground, for God is always looking for someone to use to reach thousands of souls, and that shall be you.

Fear God and trade on his wisdom.

HOW CAN I BECOME A VIRTUOUS WOMAN

Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior. John 14, verse 6: Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.
Read and study the Word of God and apply the teaching in your life. The Bible says: But ye are doers of the word, and not hearers, deceiving your own selves (James 1, verse 22)
Work and develop yourself, be intentional, and be open to correction – we are all working toward perfection. Read this Bible verse as a guide: Hebrews 12vs6-7

For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and every son whom he receives he scourges.

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom the father does not chasten?

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are of ourselves enough to think anything of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God;

Look for a godly example to continue to educate and teach you. There is no end to continuing to educate yourself.

Look for a Godly mentor that carries the auction of God to continue to learn and teach yourself. There is no end to educating yourself about the things of God.
Stand by Christ and abide in Him no matter what situation you are in. God is the only way out. Do not allow the devil to steal you away from His presence, Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the thoughts that I have toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to bring you to a good end.
Get involved in the work of God, join a group at your church and start serving. You can also participate in charity events. Reach more souls through what you have learned and what God has intended for you.
When choosing your life partner, make sure you make the right choice. Settle down with the one who loves God passionately. In my next post, I write about WHO SHOULD I MARRY AS A BELIEVER. Be sure to read it.
Rely only on God’s help; without Him, you can do nothing in your journey through life.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. There is no law against such things.
Did you notice that the last sentence says that there is no law against such things? Without the fruit of the Spirit in your life, there is no way to become a virtuous woman. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you.

This is the point where we close the curtain on who is a virtuous woman, until my next article, continue to enjoy and live a virtuous life. God bless you all. Amen.
